Today is Friday, Feb. 10. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Snow late: We might see some snow late Friday night into Saturday. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Friday is expected to be 47 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day, and by 3 a.m. Saturday morning there could be some snow showers continuing throughout the day.
  2. Valentine’s Day Dance: Head down to the on Feb. 10 for a night of at 7:30 p.m. The band, The Entertainers, a well-known group will be providing the music. They will serve up some great sounds, and there will be treats, and a wine and beer bar. Tickets to this event are $15 per person, and are available at the Center. The Jenks asks that you get tickets in advance, so that they can plan and provide enough food for everyone. You may call the Center at 781-721-7136 to reserve tickets and tables.
  3. Voter Registration: Citizens who qualify and are interested to can do so in person at the Town Clerk’s Office, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additionally, you may register up until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Town Clerk’s Office. Mail-in Voter Registration cards are available at the Winchester Post Office and the Winchester Public Library. Registrations must be postmarked by Feb. 15 in order to be eligible to vote in the March 6th Presidential Primary.
  4. Absentee ballots: Absentee ballots for the March 6 Presidential Primary will be available on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Registered voters who expect to be out of town on Election Day, between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. when the polls are open, or who are unable to get to the polls because of illness or physical disability, may apply for an absentee ballot, which will be mailed to them as soon as Wednesday, Feb. 8. Requests for ballots must be in writing, and signed by the voter or an immediate family member.
  5. Town Election: Looking to get involved in town government? The Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board will each have two seats up for re-election. The last day for candidates to submit nomination papers is Tuesday, Feb. 7 is the. Town elections will be held on Tuesday, March 27.
