Today is Thursday, Feb. 2. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Sunny early, snow late: There’s a chance of some snow showers later today. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Thursday is expected to be 41 degrees. There’s a chance of some snow showers between 7 p.m. and midnight. There should be little to no snow accumulation.
  2. Wine Discovery: If you love Italian wines, would like to learn more about them, but don't know where to begin? The at the  can help. The series will explore wines from five of the best regions of Italy. Each two-hour session will combine an overview of each region's geography, climate, and grape varieties with an opportunity to taste six of its best wines. A sampling of foods that complement each wine will be offered, and well as copies of tasting notes and presentation materials. Your guide through the world of Italian wine will be Jack Korpi, wine buyer for Berman's Wine and Spirits in Lexington. Jack has over 15 years of experience seeking out wines with personality that reflect the character of the land that created them. This series started Jan. 5 and continues over five Thursday evenings until March 1. The cost of each evening is $45 per person.
  3. Town Election: Looking to get involved in town government? The Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board will each have two seats up for re-election. Interested candidates can pick up nomination papers at the Town Clerk’s office. Friday, Feb. 3 is the last day for candidates to obtain nomination papers and Tuesday, Feb. 7 is the final day to submit them. Town elections will be held on Tuesday, March 27.
