Today is Friday, Jan. 13. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. More rain and wind: Thursday’s rain will continue into Friday before it finally moves out. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Friday is expected to be 46 degrees. It will continue to rain throughout the day with wind gusts as high as 49 mph. By 3 p.m. the showers will start to move out of the area as temperatures drop to 26 degrees.
  2. Census: Annual will be mailed to Winchester residents during the week of January 9. All households must respond to the mailing by February 15. In the mailings will be Transfer Station permits and information on the fee increases.
  3. Mortimer in court: Thomas Mortimer, IV, will be back in Woburn Superior Court today at 2 p.m. for a motions hearing.
  4. Town Election: Looking to get involved in town government? The Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board will each have two seats up for re-election. Interested candidates can pick up nomination papers at the Town Clerk’s office. The last day to obtain nomination players is Feb. 3 and the last day to submit them is Tuesday, Feb. 7.
  5. Winter Farmers Market: Beginning Jan. 14 and running to March 17, will be hosting an at its Winchester location. The event, similar to the , will run every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
