Today is Friday, Jan. 20. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Snow early and late: There’s a chance of some snow for Friday. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Friday is expected to be 33 degrees. For your morning commute Winchester is expected to get one to two inches of snow. More snow is expected Friday night, into Saturday morning.
  2. Flu Shots: It’s still flu season, and there’s still time for you to get your flu shot. The next flu clinic in Winchester is Thursday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at
  3. Daddy/daughter dance: The daddy/daughter dance, which was scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Burlington Marriot.
  4. Census: Annual will be mailed to Winchester residents during the week of January 9. All households must respond to the mailing by February 15. In the mailings will be Transfer Station permits and information on the fee increases.
  5. Town Election: Looking to get involved in town government? The Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board will each have two seats up for re-election. Interested candidates can pick up nomination papers at the Town Clerk’s office. The last day to obtain nomination players is Feb. 3 and the last day to submit them is Tuesday, Feb. 7.
