Today is Monday, Jan. 9. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Cool and sunny: Expect a pretty normal winter day today. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Monday is expected to be 39 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day. By Monday night temperatures will drop to 30 degrees.
  2. Census: Annual will be mailed to Winchester residents during the week of Jan. 9. All households must respond to the mailing by February 15. In the mailings will be Transfer Station permits and information on the fee increases.
  3. School Choice: Twelvetoday, after the school choice decision.
  4. Town Election: Looking to get involved in town government? The Board of Selectmen, School Committee and Planning Board will each have two seats up for re-election. Interested candidates can pick up nomination papers at the Town Clerk’s office. The last day to obtain nomination players is Feb. 3 and the last day to submit them is Tuesday, Feb. 7.
  5. Winter Farmers Market: Beginning Jan. 14 and running to March 17, will be hosting an at its Winchester location. The event, similar to the , will run every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
