Today is Monday, July 25. Here are five things you need to know:

1. That’s better: Don’t worry, the extreme heat from last week seems to have left the area. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Monday will be 80 degrees. After 7 p.m. on Monday night, there’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms as temperatures will drop to 65 degrees.
2. Sports and Arts Camp: The begins its today at 4 p.m. The camp, which is held at the , will run Monday to Thursday, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
3. Preschool Slot Open: The Family Action Network (FAN) of Winchester's online auction has closed but there is still an opportunity for a family that is looking for a four-year-old afternoon preschool slot for the upcoming 2011-2012 school year at .  This item is available for a "Buy It Now" price of $2,700 (valued at $5,400). This opportunity will expire at the end of August, and is open to anyone who might be interested. All proceeds will be used towards continuing to offer event programming and benefits to our FAN members.
4. Concert on the Beach: is presenting a concert on on Wednesday, . The concert event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission to the beach will be free. The starting at 5 p.m., will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs and will also serving slush for attendees. Fifty percent of the proceeds from concession sales will be put towards additional amenities at the beach, such as shade or a new above ground element. Voting is currently taking place on FANSplash’s Facebook page to determine which amenity residents would like to see installed next at the beach, cast your vote today!
