  1. Chance of Rain: Rain is predicted in the forecast for today. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Friday will be 79 degrees. There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms until 1 p.m. today. It could rain again Friday night, but the clouds should be leaving the area by Friday night, just in time for more heat.
  2. Blood Drive: is hosting a on Friday, July 29, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the Aligas Conference Center at the hospital’s main campus. Donors will receive a coupon for a free carton of Friendly’s ice cream. Make an appointment by calling (781) 756-2625 or emailing jbuttaro@winhosp.org.
  3. Construction: Traffic on I-93 will be limited to two lanes in each direction over a six-mile segment between Exit 28 (Sullivan Square) in Somerville and Exit 36 (Montvale Avenue) in Stoneham from Friday, July 29 at 8 p.m. to Monday, August 1 at 6 a.m. Traffic on I-93 South will be directed through a median crossover near Spot Pond at the Stoneham/Medford line and then travel in counter-flow operation on the northbound barrel of the highway before traveling through a second median crossover near the Medford/Somerville line. I-93 directional traffic will be separated by a moveable “zipper lane” barrier. Access to and from many of the ramps on I-93 South in this area will be restricted.
  4. Camp Rock: The  will have its summer camp this Thursday, July 28 and Friday, July 29 at the . Performances will be at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. All tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door.  For more information, please call 781-729-0224.
