Today is Wednesday, June 15. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Warm and sunny: The rain and clouds are finally fading away. According to the National Weather Service, the high for today will be 73 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day and by Wednesday night, temperatures will drop to 54 degrees.
  2. Winchester Garden Tour: The  will be hosting a on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. Residents can view 12 of the finest gardens in Winchester. There will be an optional lunch by at 11 a.m. The Winchester Garden Club will sell baked goods, stationery and plants.
  3. Friends of Winter Pond: For those of you shopping for plants, furniture and garden supplies, be sure to stop by on Wednesday, June 15. Five percent of the sales on the date will support the work of the to treat and maintain the Winter Ponds for Winchester's 4-season recreational enjoyment.
  4. Focus on the Future: Superintendent William McAlduff and Winchester High School Principal Tom Gwin for a report on the recommendations of the Focus on the Future planning group. The special meeting will take place in the Auditorium at 7 pm on Thursday, June 16.
