Today is Thursday, June 16. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Warm and sunny: Now this feels like summer. According to the National Weather Service, the high for today will be 83 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day and by Thursday night, temperatures will drop to 63 degrees.
  2. Winchester Garden Tour: The  will be hosting a on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m. Residents can view 12 of the finest gardens in Winchester. There will be an optional lunch by at 11 a.m. The Winchester Garden Club will sell baked goods, stationery and plants.
  3. Solarize Mass: Winchester is one of four Massachusetts communities to be chosen to participate in a pilot program called Residents already participated in the first meeting at the end of May to learn about installing solar panels on their homes. The second installment, which was originally scheduled for this week has been pushed back to Thursday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m. at
  4. Focus on the Future: Superintendent William McAlduff and Winchester High School Principal Tom Gwin for a report on the recommendations of the Focus on the Future planning group. The special meeting will take place in the Auditorium at 7 pm on Thursday, June 16.
