Today is Friday, June 17. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Chance of showers: Get ready for some rain on Friday. According to the National Weather Service, the high for today will be 75 degrees. There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day on Friday.
  2. 93 Construction: The bridges on Route I-93 during the upcoming weekend between 8 p.m., Friday, June 17 and 5 a.m. Monday, June 20. Expect intermittent single lane closures throughout the weekend along Riverside Avenue, Salem Street/Route 60, Route 16 and Valley Street/Fellsway.
  3. Vinson-Owen Forever Festival: Come say farewell to at the on Friday, June 17 from 4 p.m.  to 6 p.m. Past and present students, families and staff are all invited to celebrate V-O as it prepares to close its doors after 50 years.
  4. Boston Bruins Parade: If you’re free on Saturday, the Bruins’ Stanley Cup parade steps off at the Garden at 11 a.m. From there it takes a left onto Staniford Street, then a left on Cambridge, onto Tremont Street and then a right on Boylston Street.
