Today is Wednesday, June 22. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Sunny with some showers: Don’t worry, it’s not expected to rain too much, so you should still be able to enjoy the day. According to the National Weather Service, the high for today will be 77 degrees. There’s a slight chance of some showers after 2 p.m.
  2. Book Signing: Be sure to stop by tonight from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. as . The author wrote medical thrillers, Skin Deep and Flashback and will sign and read from his newest thriller, Tunnel Vision.
  3. Preschool Auction: The Family Action Network (FAN) of Winchester will be offering an at Preschool Social Academy (PSA) for the upcoming 2011-2012 year. This opportunity will be open to all new (currently unenrolled) students of PSA who will be entering the four-year-old pre-K program. This auction item is valued at $5,400. Online bidding will start on June 15 with a minimum bid of $2,700. All bidding will be conducted online on the FAN members-only site on BigTent. FAN can bid for their non-member friends in order to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. Non-members may also submit their bids directly to presidents@fanwinchester.org. All proceeds will be used towards continuing to offer event programming and benefits to our FAN members. 
  4. Winchester Postcards:  John Cleary, postcard collector and owner of the largest , will be on hand to discuss and lead a presentation of his archive tonight at from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
