Five Things You Need To Know Today, March 14

Today is Wednesday, March 14. Here are five things you need to know.

  1. Showers early: There might be some rain for your morning commute. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Wednesday is expected to be 62 degrees. There’s a chance of some isolated showers before 9 a.m., but then it should become sunny as the day goes on.
  2. Be a parent not a pal: On Wednesday evening, March 14, The Winchester Coalition for a Safer Community, the Department and the Winchester High School Administration will hold a presentation on presented by the law firm of Campbell, Campbell, Edwards and Conroy and supported by Middlesex District Attorney Gerald Leone’s office. Presentation will take place in Auditorium, at 7:30 p.m.  “Be a Parent, Not a Pal” is a multimedia program designed to educate parents, teachers and members of the community about the Social Host Law and to illustrate the legal consequences of allowing those under the age of 21 to possess alcoholic beverages. 
  3. Pop Warner: An on Thursday, March 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the Gymnasium.  Members of the Winchester Pop Warner Board will make a brief presentation and be available to answer any questions about the program and the upcoming season.  Interested parents are encouraged to attend.  Interested children are also welcome to join their parents at this session if they so desire. This information session is for the football and cheerleading program.
  4. Town Day: It may only be February, but it’s never too early to start thinking about Town Day. And Town Day needs volunteers, if you can help, be sure to sign up.
