Today is Thursday, March 17. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Best Day in Months: While Wednesday may have been a wash, Thursday will be exceptionally nice. According to the National Weather Service the high for St. Patrick’s Day is expected to get up to around 57 degrees with the sun out most of the day. 
  2. Irish music: Be sure to head to the to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day. The tavern will be open at noon today, and be sure to have the traditional March 17 meal – corned beef and cabbage. And starting at 6 p.m., Joe Leary will be playing some traditional Irish music.  
  3. “Like” us: If you haven’t done so already, be sure to head to the Winchester Patch Facebook page and become a fan.
  4. In case you missed it: Don’t forget, March 29 are the town elections. On the ballot will be a general But there are also three candidates vying for the one seat. Make sure you check out our Q&A conversation we had with each candidate. Each one – , and incumbent – all had a unique view on the override.
  5. College Fair: The will be held on Thursday, March 24 in the Woburn Memorial High School cafeteria, 88 Montvale Avenue, Woburn. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fifteen colleges are expected to attend. The event, hosted by Woburn High and Woburn's Special Education Parent Advisory Council (www.woburnPAC.org) is free and open to students, their families, and teachers.
