Today is Friday, March 18. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Warm and windy: Friday might be a day where you can dust off the shorts. According to the National Weather Service the high for today will be around 67 degrees. However, be careful because the NWS has issued a wind advisory, as gusts are expected to approach 50 mph.
  2. WCNS Fundraiser: The is hosting its annual at 6:30 p.m. at The evening is open to all.  There will be food, drinks and the chance to bid on live auction items from sporting event tickets to vacation home getaways. Proceeds from the auction replenish the Jean Mortenson Scholarship Fund for the WCNS school.
  3. “Like” us: If you haven’t done so already, be sure to head to the Winchester Patch Facebook page and become a fan.
  4. Rock for Youth: Round Two of the continues on Friday at 7 p.m. at . Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and admission is $10. Proceeds from the Rock for Youth benefit the Youth Service Award Scholarships.
  5. Madrigal Fest: The Chamber Singers present an evening of at Winchester Town Hall on  Saturday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance at Bookends or at the door, $15 for adults; $8 for seniors and students; $40 family (two parents with minor children).
