Five Things You Need To Know Today, March 23

Today is Wednesday, March 23. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Cool and wet: It probably won’t ruin your day, but expect Wednesday to be cloudy with a chance of showers. According to the National Weather Service the high for today is 40 degrees. After 2 p.m. there’s a slight chance of some rain showers. And by late Wednesday night, early Thursday morning more snow is expected, but accumulation is expected to be less than an inch.
  2. Pop Warner: Registration for football and cheer will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday March 26 at the Cafeteria. Winchester Pop Warner will be co-hosting this registration (along with the Sachem Youth Football). Parents should bring their children to this event to register them and have them weighed. Fees and general information are available online
  3. “Like” us: If you haven’t done so already, be sure to head to the Winchester Patch Facebook page and become a fan.
  4. Absentee Ballots: Remember, the annual town election is next Tuesday, March 29. If you’re not going to be in town, but would still like to vote, be sure to from the Town Clerk. The final day to request an absentee ballot is Monday, March 28.
  5. Patriots’ Day: The Winchester Scouts will be participating in this years , beginning on Sunday, April 17. There are plenty of activities taking place, and non-scouts are also welcome to attend.
