Five Things You Need To Know Today, March 23

The fifth annual college fair for students with disabilities will be held today.

Today is Thursday, March 24. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Spring is here, more snow on the way: While the seasons changed on paper, the weather is still closer to winter than to spring. According to the National Weather Service the high for today is 39 degrees. For most of the day on Thursday, there should be some snow showers, but luckily accumulations are expected to be less than an inch. The snow should change over to rain by late afternoon, but the snow will come back by Thursday night with accumulations of less than an inch.
  2. Pop Warner: Registration for football and cheer will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday March 26 at the Cafeteria. Winchester Pop Warner will be co-hosting this registration (along with the Sachem Youth Football). Parents should bring their children to this event to register them and have them weighed. Fees and general information are available online
  3. College Fair: The will be held on Thursday, March 24 in the Woburn Memorial High School cafeteria, 88 Montvale Avenue, Woburn. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Fifteen colleges are expected to attend. The event, hosted by Woburn High and Woburn's Special Education Parent Advisory Council (www.woburnPAC.org) is free and open to students, their families, and teachers.
  4. Stop Dieting If you want to shed some pounds and change your eating habits, be sure to head to tonight at 7 p.m..  Using guided relaxation and imagery techniques , you will notice an improvement in your desire, determination and resourcefulness, this will Winchester Recreational Program will help you quit dieting.
  5. Scrapbooking: Learn how to keep your and treasures organized and safely preserved. Genealogist and author, Marcia Melnyk will be at the from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to offer tips and advice on how to create scrapbook.
