Today is Friday, March 25. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. At least the snow stopped: There doesn’t seem to be anymore snow in the forecast, which is the good news, but the spring-type weather isn’t quite here yet. According to the National Weather Service the high for today will be 40 degrees. It’s expected to be mostly sunny with a little wind. Gusts are expected to hit 22 mph.  
  2. Pop Warner: Registration for football and cheer will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday March 26 at the Cafeteria. Winchester Pop Warner will be co-hosting this registration (along with the Sachem Youth Football). Parents should bring their children to this event to register them and have them weighed. Fees and general information are available online
  3. Taste of Winchester: The is holding its largest fundraiser of the year on Friday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event will feature menu selections from 30 area restaurants and stores. The which has been sold out in past years, provides the museum with a significant portion of the annual funding for its photographic exhibitions and programming.
  4. Sleeping Beauty The Winchester Cooperative Theatre enters its final weekend of performances for Friday night’s show begins at 7:30 p.m. at
  5. Absentee Ballots: Remember, the annual town election is next Tuesday, March 29. If you’re not going to be in town, but would still like to vote, be sure to from the Town Clerk. The final day to request an absentee ballot is Monday, March 28.
