Today is Wednesday, May 18. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Heaviest day yet: Sure, it’s been raining all week, but the heaviest rain is expected to fall on Wednesday. According to the National Weather Service, there will be showers and a chance of a thunderstorm with heavy rains throughout the day. The high for Wednesday is expected to reach 58 degrees. Rain and thunderstorms will continue Wednesday night and into Thursday.
  2. NuPath Fundraiser: NuPath Inc., a nonprofit organization, presents the 14th annual from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Select in Woburn. The evening includes tastings by 25 food purveyors, a silent auction, raffles and door prizes. Proceeds benefit adults living with developmental disabilities with job training and placement, affordable housing, transportation and other services.
  3. Lot Closure: The across from will be closed until Sunday, May 22, while the town sets up for the . The fair will be held this Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21.
  4. Jubilation Singers to Perform: The, an ensemble of 30 boys and girls from the seventh and eighth grades at will perform their spring concert Thursday, May 26 at 7:30 in the McCall Middle School Auditorium.  Admission is $5 and tickets are available at the door. A portion of the proceeds will help fund the Jubilation Singers trip to Connecticut to participate in a New England choir competition.
