Today is Wednesday, May 25. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. That’s more like it: It looks like spring has finally arrived. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Wednesday will be 71 degrees. Expect it to be sunny most of the day, and by Wednesday night temperatures will drop to 54 degrees.
  2. Performing Arts Show: Students will have their throughout the school from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight. That will be followed by a musical performance from grades K - two from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  3. Splash Park to Open: Winchester’s long-awaited at is finally ready to open. The . There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony with State Senator Patricia Jehlen and State Representative Jason Lewis in attendance. Games and activities are planned from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with concessions provided by the . Park admission will be free for the day.
  4. Jubilation Singers to Perform: The, an ensemble of 30 boys and girls from the seventh and eighth grades at will perform their spring concert Thursday, May 26 at 7:30 in the McCall Middle School Auditorium.  Admission is $5 and tickets are available at the door. A portion of the proceeds will help fund the Jubilation Singers trip to Connecticut to participate in a New England choir competition
