Today is Tuesday, May 31. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Enjoy the Day: Granted, most people are heading into work this morning, but be sure to try and get out and enjoy the day. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Tuesday will be 75 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day with temperatures dropping to 57 degrees by Tuesday night.
  2. Pancake Breakfast: Start off your Town Day activities with a pancake breakfast at the cafeteria at the Annual Winchester , Saturday at 9 a.m. Tickets $6 and may be purchased from a Rotary member or at the door. There will be a live disc jockey, face painting by high school students for the kids, helium balloons, and a number of raffle opportunities to benefit the Rotary charities.
  3. Rain Barrel and Compost Bin Program: The Town of Winchester has a partnership with the New England Rain Barrel Company to offer to Winchester residents at a discounted rate, for a limited time.  Typically sold for $119.95, Winchester residents may purchase the rain barrels for $72.70. The New England Rain Barrel Company will be taking orders for the rain barrels and compost bins through June 20.  Delivery of the products is scheduled for Thursday, June 23 at the Winchester Transfer Station between 4 p.m. and 7 pm. 
  4. Summer Enrichment: Winchester Public Schools will be holding its . If you enjoy cooking, sewing, science exploration, scrapbooking, reading, math, music, games, art and crafts, or civic participation we have the class for your student.  Student ages from Pre K thru grade 8 are all welcome.
