Today is Thursday, May 5. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Chance of Showers: You could see some rain on you way to work this morning. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Thursday will be 53 degrees. There is a chance of rain mainly between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. By Thursday night the rain will have moved away and it will be cool and cloudy.
  2. Hall of Fame: The Winchester Sports Foundation will be holding its annual Hall of Fame dinner Thursday night at the Woburn Hilton beginning at 5:30 p.m. The following people will be inducted into the hall: Vern SlackIce Hockey, baseball, football ’49; William Lamarche, ice hockey ’60; Barbara Morton, field hockey, basketball, softball ’65; Kathy Levinson, tennis, basketball, field hockey ’73; Kim Donlon Bono, basketball, soccer ’83; Joe Lawrence, wrestling ’85; Paul Sughrue, soccer, tennis ’85; Coach Suzanne Ontso, girl’s lacrosse; and the 1956 Winchester High School cross country team.
  3. Prom: on May 7 the oganizers of the (WFEE) will pitch a tent on the grass and welcome guests to their annual spring fundraiser. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear prom attire, either retro or modern and show their true colors - Winchester's red and black.
  4. Special Town Meeting: There will be a special Town Meeting at tonight at 7:30 p.m. Members will decide if they should allow the Board of Selectman to enter into a permanent transportation easement with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) in order to allow the MBTA to construct and maintain new ADA compliant ramps, the mini-high platform and the new drainage structure for the new ramp system at Wedgemere Station
  5. Medication Take Back: Here’s your chance to Don’t throw your medicine in the trash or in the toilet, instead bring it to the on May 7. Bring your medications to the collection site for proper and environmentally safe disposal. For privacy, cross out the name and address from all labels with a permanent marker, but do not cross out the name of the medication.
