Today is Thursday, Nov. 10. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Rainy day: Here comes the cold and the rain. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Thursday will be 62 degrees, before it drops to the 40s for the weekend. There should be some showers and heavy rain beginning around noon and continuing throughout the day. The rain is expected to be heavy at times and continue Thursday night where there’s a chance of some thunderstorms.
  2. Movie Night: The tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. They’ll be pizza and a movie (Rio). Kids - $6; Adults $8. Plus, there’ll be a cash bar.
  3. Veterans Day: The , began after the Second World War and has been held for the last 64 years. It kicks off at 10 a.m. on Friday from and ends by Town Hall at the War Memorial.
  4. Toys for Tots: in Winchester is accepting items for . Members of the community can drop off a new, unwrapped toy in collection boxes at:Get In Shape For Women, 564 Main Street.
  5. Coat Drive: is participating in "Coast for Kids.” They are looking for all sizes from Pre-K through adult large. Hammond asks that you drop off all coats at their office, 552 Main Street, across from Starbucks.
