Today is Wednesday, October 12. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. It had to end sometime: After a handful of picture-perfect days in a row, there is a 30 percent chance of rain after 4 p.m. and a 90 percent chance of rain after 7 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid 60s during the day.
  2. Girls’ swimming, field hockey at home: The girls’ swim team will host Melrose at 3:45 p.m. The 7-3-1 field hockey team will also be at home at 3:45 p.m., against 6-4 Reading. The 9-1 golf team will be on the road at 5-4 Lexington at 3:30 p.m.
  3. BOS, Capital Planning: The Board of Selectmen will meet at 2:30 p.m. in their meeting room in to discuss the Town Meeting Warrant. The Capital Planning Committee will meet at 7 p.m. in the same location.
  4. Upcoming flu clinics: Missed yesterday’s flu clinic at the ? There will be another one there from 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 13) and a final one there from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
