Today is Monday, October 17. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Sunny and cool: Try and enjoy another beautiful fall day. According to the National Weather Service, the high for today is expected to be 68 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day. By Monday night, temperatures are expected to drop to 43 degrees.
  2. Road closed: The will be paving Bacon Street, which will require the town to close the road between Wedgemere Station and Simms Corner.
  3. Vinson-Owen update: The Education Facilities Planning and Building Committee (EFPBC) invites Winchester residents to an update on the rebuild of the , Wednesday Oct. 19 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Parkhurst School. It will be presented by Architect Brooke Trivas of Tappe and EFPBC Chair, Bob Deering. There will be a conversationCommunity members are also invited to see the renovation work that was completed at Parkhurst.
  4. Faculty recital: There will be a featuring “Brazilian Serenade,” a duo of Maurice Cahen on guitar and Ricardo Frota on percussion, held at tonight, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
