Today is Thursday, Oct. 27. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Snow?: Well, it went from fall to winter pretty quickly as there’s a chance of some snow showers late Thursday night. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Thursday is to be 46 degrees. It should be mostly rainy throughout the day. By Thursday night, temperatures will drop to 32 degrees and if you stay up late enough (1 a.m.) you may see the first snow of the season.
  2. Halloween Contest: If you haven’t been to a Halloween party yet this year, here’s your chance. Head down to tonight at 7:30 p.m for music by Pat Benti & The Sha-Boom Band. For a cover charge of $30, it includes a live show and Hor D'oeuvres. Plus, they’ll be prizes for best-dressed costumes.
  3. Food, Wine and Design: Lee Kimball, to unveil their newest design, a wine bar concept combining Poggenpohl cabinetry and Sub-Zero wine storage and refrigeration.   4. Town Manager Candidate: From 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Board of Selectmen Meeting Room, Winchester residents can meet Belmont Town Administrator, Thomas Younger, one of three finalists for the Town Manager position.
