Today is Monday, Oct. 31. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Time to get warmer: It looks as though there’s no more snow in the forecast. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Monday is to be 47 degrees. Most of the snow should continue to melt away. By Monday night, temperatures are expected to drop to 32 degrees.
  2. No more debris: The Transfer Station will be open on Monday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for storm debris only.
  3. Power up: For the 600 Winchester households still without power, NSTAR has said that power should return by Tuesday morning.
  4. Coat Drive: is participating in "Coast for Kids.” They are looking for all sizes from Pre-K through adult large. Hammond asks that you drop off all coats at their office, 552 Main Street, across from Starbucks. Coats are accepted from now until Jan. 8.
  5. “Like” us: If you haven’t done so already, be sure to head to the Winchester Patch Facebook page and become a fan.
