Today is Tuesday, October 4. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. More rain: One more day of rain. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Tuesday will be 61 degrees. It’s expected to be mostly rain throughout the day. There may be some scattered thunderstorms. The rain should be moving out of the area some time after 11 p.m.
  2. Flu Clinic: The first will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This session will be for people aged 65 and older and those who are high risk.
  3. Water main flushing: Beginning Monday, water main flushing of Winchester’s middle low water system will be taking place during the day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in certain neighborhoods. Water main flushing signs will be posted in the areas to be flushed. The middle low water system consists of streets west of Washington Street, Main Street and Grove Street, and streets east of Cambridge Street. During flushing, residents should refrain from using water for drinking, dishwashing, and laundry as some discoloration of water may occur. If you experience discolored water, let the cold water run until it clears. If the problem continues, please call the Water and Sewer Department at 781-721-7109.
  4. A Taste of Judaism: This, ethics and community is designed for beginners – Jewish or not. Class is on Tuesdays, Oct. 4, 11 and 18 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Rabbi Richard Meirowitz at in Winchester.
