Today is Tuesday, September 13. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Sunny with a chance of rain: After feeling like fall over the weekend, it’s back to summer to start the week. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Monday will be 81 degrees. It should be mostly sunny throughout the day on Monday. There’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m.
  2. Art Grant: Apply for a Each year the Winchester Cultural Council (WCC) receives funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which is given to Winchester artists, individuals and organizations. Any artist or organization may apply for a grant, as long as the project will take place in Winchester. Grants may be used for exhibits, public concerts, and a variety of other community-oriented or public gatherings that utilize arts and culture as a tool for civic engagement. The deadline is Oct. 15. 
  3. Oktoberfest: The Winchester Rotary Club will be holding its on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The family-oriented fundraiser will also include an authentic live Oompah band, along with German food from Karl’s Sausage Kitchen in Saugus. Tickets are $30 for adults and can be purchased from Rotary members, Bookends or at the door. Proceeds from the event will be reinvested in local school, senior and community organizations through financial grants.
