Today is Friday, September 16. Here are five things you need to know:

  1. Welcome Fall: It’s here and it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Friday will be a cool 63 degrees. Expect it to be mostly sunny throughout the day with a light breeze. By Friday night temperatures are expected to drop to 41 degrees.
  2. Relay for Life: The first will be held on Oct. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Woburn Police Department. You can see how you can help plan the sixth annual Relay For Life of Woburn and Winchester.
  3. Oktoberfest: The Winchester Rotary Club will be holding its on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The family-oriented fundraiser will also include an authentic live Oompah band, along with German food from Karl’s Sausage Kitchen in Saugus. Tickets are $30 for adults and can be purchased from Rotary members, Bookends or at the door. Proceeds from the event will be reinvested in local school, senior and community organizations through financial grants.
  4. EnKa Grants: The from organizations serving the needs of Winchester residents. The deadline for applications is October 1. A project budget and organization financial statement must be included with the requests for funding. Grant applications are also available via the web at www.enkasociety.org .
