Today is Monday, September 19. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Fall Continues: The cool weather continues today. According to the National Weather Service, the high for Monday will be 66 degrees. Expect it to be mostly sunny with a slight breeze throughout the day. By Monday night temperatures will drop down to 50 degrees.
2. Town Manager Search: The After reviewing the 54 applications submitted for the open Town Manager position, the Committee with the advice of the hired search consultant, Mark Morse, has now completed interviews with 10 applicants. Deliberations have begun regarding which candidates to recommend to the Board of Selectman
3. Oktoberfest: The Winchester Rotary Club will be holding its on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The family-oriented fundraiser will also include an authentic live Oompah band, along with German food from Karl’s Sausage Kitchen in Saugus. Tickets are $30 for adults and can be purchased from Rotary members, Bookends or at the door. Proceeds from the event will be reinvested in local school, senior and community organizations through financial grants.
