Flooding, Field Improvements Should Be Winchester's Top Priorities

Flooding and field improvements were just a few of the items recommended by Winchester Patch readers.

After asking you, our readers, what the top priority should be for the town of Winchester in 2013, flooding and field improvements were among the top suggestions.

"The (number one) priority in Winchester remains to be flooding and the mitigation thereof - without a doubt," wrote Joe Lucherini in an email to Winchester Patch. "It has always been the (number one) priority within the town of Winchester - lest we forget the millions of dollars in damage that occur every other year.

"It has been over 40 years without resolve to date and it appears as though it will not be resolved satisfactorily for another 40 years, beyond my life span. Very disappointing to say the least..."

On a related note, reader Flaubert Machismo wrote, "Repairing the muddy fields might be nice for the children that play on them."

Aside from addressing flooding issues and field repairs, reader Che Castro asked the town to "...treat your employees and retirees fairly!"
