Hot Off the T: 5 Things To Do in Boston This Weekend

Cliff diving off the ICA, a North End feast, and a free concert by KC and the Sunshine Band.

(All events are in walking distance from Orange Line stops on the MBTA.)

  1. CLIFF DIVING AT THE ICA: World Class divers jump off the roof of the Institute for Contemporary Art on Saturday starting at 3 p.m. The musuem remains open during the free event and you can get $5 off admission from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
    Take the commuter line from Winchester Station, then take the Orange Line to State Street Station and walk 20 minutes along the beautiful waterfront to the museum. 

     
  2. FISHERMAN'S FEAST IN THE NORTH END: Billed as Boston's oldest continuous Italian festival, the Fisherman's Feast of the Madonna started on Thursday and continues through Sunday. Check out the schedule of events.
    Take the commuter line from Winchester Station, then take the Orange Line to Haymarket Station and walk 3 minutes to Hanover Street in the North End. 

     
  3. : A couple of days ago, theatre company Mill 6 sent several playwrights to take a round trip ride on the T. By the end of their line's trip, the playwrights had written a script, which they then turned over to a director and actors. The result is the "T Plays III" at The Factory Theatre, Thursday - Saturday, 8 p.m. Cost, $15.
    Take the commuter line from Winchester Station, then take the Orange Line to Back Bay Station and walk 15 minutes to the theater.  

     
  4. ENVIRONMENTAL FESTIVAL: Check out the region's largest environmental festival, Boston GreenFest, at City Hall Plaza. It features live entertainment, over 200 exhibitors, a GreenFilmFest, workshops and more. It kicked off Thursday and continues Friday from noon to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
    Take the commuter line from Winchester Station, then take the Orange Line to Haymarket Station and walk across the street to City Hall Plaza 

     
  5.  Free outdoor concert at the  on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. "Shake Your Booty!" with this '70s band and dance to "Get Down Tonight." Yeah, "That's The Way I Like It." Aha, Aha.
    Take the commuter line from Winchester Station, then take the Orange Line to Haymarket Station and walk 15 minutes to the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade
