Weekend Planner: New Year's Eve Parties

Here are some suggestions of what to do this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. Every Thursday we’ll be giving you a few suggestions of things to do this weekend. And be sure to let us know of any other events in the area that you might be attending.

Where/When: ; Saturday, Dec. 31; 8 p.m.

Why Go: The Winchester Historical Society will be hosting the first annual New Year’s Eve Ball to be held on December 31, 2011 from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at the Sanborn House Historical and Cultural Center.  “Mr. and Mrs. Oren Sanborn” will greet their guests at the Aigremont Estate at 15 High Street in Winchester to celebrate New Year’s Eve with an evening of cocktails, dinner and dancing.  Harvest Catering of Wakefield will provide a seated dinner, with musical accompaniment provided by the Mark Pucci Quartet. The event will be formal, black tie optional.  Additional contributions will benefit the “Turn up the Heat” Campaign to replace the furnace and to provide the improvements necessary for providing air conditioning in due course.

Pricing: Tickets are available at $200 per person and quantities are limited.

Where/when: , Saturday, Dec. 31, 5 p.m.

Why go: The is still taking limited reservations for New Years Eve. Reserve seatings are available for 5p.m., 7 p.m., or 9 p.m. The tavern will be offering a four-course chef's menu and live music by award-winning vocailist Ellen O'Brien starting at 8p.m. There will be a champagne toast at midnight. Call (781) 369-1620 to make your reservation, space is limited.

Pricing: Cost of food and drinks.

Where/When: ; Saturday, Dec. 31, 5 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the new year at the First Congregational Church. Be sure to bring an appetizer or dessert to share.Contact Dave Weir at 781-729-3667

Where/when: St. Anthony's, 1020R Main St, Woburn;Saturday, Dec. 31, 7:30 p.m.

Why go: Come and party with MSF Band at The St. Anthony Club Of North Woburn. There will be Hors D’oeuvres, a hot buffet and a champagne toast at midnight. For tickets Call: 781-760-9778 (Tony) or Email: stanthonyclubma@yahoo.com. 21+ Positive ID Required

Pricing: $25/$35 at the door.

Where/when: Sea Dog Pub, Saturday, Dec. 31, 7 p.m.

Why go: The party wll be Hosted/DJ by MIX 104.1’s Karson from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. There's a special beer dinner and Marriott hotel stay for you & your date for $149 per couple. Or you can have a five-course meal paired with the Best of the 2011 beers for $49.95 a person.
