Governor Congratulates MATHCOUNTS Team

Here is some information to get you through Tuesday, June 12.

1. Today will be partly sunny with a high of 73 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 40 percent chance of rain late tonight.

2. The Winchester Field Development Council is approxiamtely $76,000 short of its goal. The .  is donating 10 percent of all proceeds from this Friday's sales to WFDC to help reach the $711,000 goal.

3. The Marble Collection, Inc. publishes the only statewide print and digital magazine of the arts for and by Massachusetts secondary students. The Marble Collection: Massachusetts High School Magazine of the Arts, which features students’ literature, art, music and video works, announced the release of its Spring 2012 edition. 4. Winchester's James Lin was part of the Massachusett's MATHCOUNTS team which was named the 2012 national champions. Gov. Deval Patrick congratulated the middle school students after their victory at the competition in Walt Disney World in early May. 

“I congratulate these students on their success, and thank them for representing the Commonwealth on a national level,” Patrick said. “Massachusetts leads the nation in mathematics, and we will continue our high level of investment in education to reach our full potential as a Commonwealth.”
