Mystic River Watershed Association Unveils Urban Trail Map, Activity Guide

A presentation related to the new map and guide is set to take place July 14 at 1 p.m. at Torbert MacDonald Park, Medford.

The Mystic River Watershed Association (MyRWA) works to improve environmental conditions for the nearly 500,000 residents within the 22 community Mystic River Watershed, including Winchester.

As part of these efforts, on July 14 MyRWA will unveil the Mystic River Watershed Urban Trail Map and Activity Guide. Written in both English and Spanish, the Urban Trail Map and Activity Guide documents locations to explore and experience the Mystic River as it winds its way through neighborhoods and major transit centers to waterfront parks and open space areas along the main stem of the Mystic River from Medford to Chelsea.

The map and guide highlights unique features of the open spaces, including both natural and cultural history. The map and guide provides a learning opportunity that families, teachers and community-based organizations can use to perform self-guided tours of select areas of the Mystic River Watershed in its many urban jewel settings.
