Question of the Day: Should Peanut Butter Sandwiches be Removed from the Winchester Lunch Menu

This past year, Winchester has been asked to . And while no changes have been made, there are parents who are urging the School Committee and Superintendent, William McAlduff, to sandwiches from the lunch menu.

According to Winchester parent Zoe RajBahandary, there are 294 students in the district with some sort of a peanut allergy and 70 percent of surrounding communities have removed peanut butter sandwiches from their menu.

But Winchester head nurse, Betty Britt, disagreed with that statement and said that in the past 20 years, no EpiPen has been used because of an allergic reaction due to food in the school cafeteria.
