Weekend Planner: A Turkey Trot and Match for Milan

Take a look at some suggestions of what to do this long Thanksgiving Day weekend.

Where/When: ; Thursday, Nov. 24, 8 a.m. registration, 8:15 a.m. start.

Why Go: Kids ages 3-9 can participate in the first-ever Kids Turkey Trot, put on by Shanahan Real Estate and the Family Action Network of Winchester (FAN), and help raise money for the Bridget Brigade Foundation, a local charity that supports families caring for children with cancer. Kids will participate in age-based races and win a prize. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

Price: $5 per child.

Where/When: ; Thursday, Nov. 24, 10:15 a.m.

Why Go: The Sachems hold a 52-42-12 advantage over the Tanners in the teams’ 107 Thanksgiving Day games, and they’ve won the last three. However, in order to keep that streak going, the Sachems’ defenders will need to contain Woburn’s dynamic playmaker Chucky Ortiz, a task easier said than done. Ortiz has 20 touchdowns through his team’s first nine games.

Where/When: Middlesex Fells Reservation, Crystal Springs Road area; Saturday, Nov. 26, 9 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: Join the Friends of Middlesex Fells Reservation for an educational nature hike.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: ; Saturday, Nov. 26, noon.

Why Go: Help raise money for the family of Milan Moosavizadeh, .

Pricing: $7 per person.

Where/When: Montvale Plaza, 54 Montvale Ave., Stoneham; Saturday, Nov. 26, 7 to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Meet up with old friends and acquaintances.

Pricing: $60 at the door or up until midnight on Friday, Nov. 25.
