Weekend Planner: Civic Award and Irish Heritage Month

Why Go: The League of Women Voters of Winchester will hold their First Annual Civic Leadership Award and present it to Mary Ellen Lannon. There will be wine tastingm a raffle and a silent auction. Where/when: Stone Zoo, Stoneham, Saturday, March 3, 10 a.m.

Why go: St. Patty’s Day may only come around once a year, but this March, Stone Zoo makes the spirit of St. Patrick last all month long. Bring family and friends to the Zoo every Saturday in March for cultural activities and experiences including folklore and legends, Irish step dancing, Gaelic football, and scavenger hunts. Animals partake in the fun with green-themed enrichment.

Pricing: $13.

Where/When: ; Saturday, March 3, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Instruction in CrossFit includes basic to advanced level classes in functional exercise, athletic and martial conditioning, plyometrics, kettlebell training, olympic weightlifting, medicine ball training, and basic gymnastics. Register for their free Saturday Group Intro Class by calling (617) 575-9348. Each class is limited to only six people.

Where/when: , Saturday, March 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why go: Beginning Jan. 14 and running to March 17, Mahoney’s will be hosting an indoor farmers market at its Winchester location. The event, similar to the , will run every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m

Pricing: Depends on what you buy.

Where/When: ; Sunday, March 4, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Winchester Community Music School presents a children’s concert that is a unique performance blending music, theater, and children’s literature. This event features a rock performance and music from the story “The Frog Prince” with narration by actors from Kidstock. The concert is appropriate for ages 2-8 year old. Tickets are available online at nextdoortheater.org or at Winchester Community Music School.
