Weekend Planner: Fair, Football and Fun

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. Every Thursday we’ll be giving you a few suggestions of things to do this weekend. And be sure to let us know of any other events in the area that you might be attending.

Where/When: Friday, May 20, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, May 21, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Who doesn't love fairs? There will be rides, games, food and plenty to do over the two-day event. Don't forget to join in the parade Friday morning at 9 a.m.

Pricing: A sheet of 50 tickets is $30. A single ticket is 75 cents. Food is purchased with cash only.

Where/when: , Friday, May 20; U-9 to U-12 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; U-13 to U-17, 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why go: This free clinic is a great oppportunity to spend a night working on technical training under the guidance of professional soccer player and former New England Revolution player Khano Smith. This clinic will focus on dribbling, passing and shooting skills and will have some small-sided games and other fun activities

Pricing: Free.

Where/when:, Friday, May 20, 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why go: Comedian Jimmy Tingle will be appearing at Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA on Friday May 20 at 8pm to benefit the Arlington Rotary Club. Proceeds from the event will support the Arlington Rotary Club Scholarship Program, Robbins Library early reading program, and other community programs.

Pricing: $25 ($22 for seniors and Regent Members).

Where/When: ;Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why go: It's a chance to see local artists display their work. The third annual event will have over 70 artists.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Stone Zoo; 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Why Go: Birds of Prey features 16 different bird species from around the world, including the Egyptian vulture, American kestrel, king vulture, barn owl and white-bellied stork. These birds will fly in from overhead and demonstrate natural behaviors including unique survival techniques and food foraging, as well as specialized physical adaptations.

Pricing: All shows are free with paid admission to Stone Zoo.Stone Zoo Admission: $13 for adults; $11.00 for seniors (62+); $9 for children 2-12; Children under 2 are free.
