Weekend Planner: Farmers' Market, Football and a Movie Night

Here are some suggestions of what to do this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. Every Thursday we’ll be giving you a few suggestions of things to do this weekend. And be sure to let us know of any other events in the area that you might be attending.

Where/When: Middlesex Fells Reservation, intersection of Reservoir Street and Highland Avenue (Gate 18 parking area), Saturday, Aug. 27, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Join Walter Kittredge for a short hike and habitat restoration and learn about native plant habitats and invasive species. Gloves and tools will be provided.

Where/When: , Saturday, Aug. 27, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: There will be music, art and, of course, produce and baked goods from local farmers on hand. Liz Buchanan and Gordon MacFarland will perform at 9:30 a.m. followed by the Wicked Pickers at noon. There will also be a cooking and nutrition demonstration. Attendees are encouraged to bike or walk, or park in the Aberjona or Shore Road lots.

Pricing: Free to attend, the rest is up to you.

Where/When: Lynn Classical High School, 235 O’Callaghan Way, Lynn, Saturday, Aug. 27, 3 p.m.

Why Go: Can’t wait for the Sachems first home game? Get a sneak peak at the 2011 team in Lynn before the season begins.

Where/When: Robbins Farm Park, 61 Eastern Ave., Arlington, Saturday, Aug. 27, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Come watch the Marx Brothers classic “Duck Soup” in this fun, outdoor atmosphere. Light refreshments will be sold.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: , 78 Ridge St. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. (weather and berry quantities permitting)

Why Go: What better way to spend a late summer day with the family than picking fresh raspberries right here in Winchester.

Pricing: Pints are $5, or the berries are $7.75 per pound.
