Weekend Planner: Remembering 9/11, a Cocktail Party and a Dinner

Here are some suggestions of what to do this weekend.

Why Go: Enjoy farm-inspired cocktails and hors-doeurves made from certified-organic vegetables and watch as the sun sets over our fields of sumptious vegetables and berries.

Where/when: ; Sunday, Sept. 11, 2 p.m.

Why go: The Winchester Interfaith Council will be sponsoring a 9/11 memorial ceremony on Sunday. Members of the community can honor the people who have been impacted by September 11, 2001.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: ; Saturday, Sept. 10, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy live music while you find some of the freshest produce in the area.

Where/when: 27 Maple Street, Arlington; Sunday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. 

Why go: Friends of the Council on Aging will be holding the 2nd annual 5K professionally timed road race "Running with Friends" to benefit Arlington seniors on Sunday, Sept. 11. Registration day-of starts at 9 a.m. at the Senior Center at 27 Maple Street. Race start time is 10 a.m., in front of Arlington Town Hall at 730 Mass. Ave.  There will be food, music, prizes and a 50-50 raffle.

Where/when: , Sunday, Sept. 11 at 4:30 p.m. 

Why go: The fall fundraiser culminates with a farm dinner in the fields of Wright-Locke Farm (or in the 1827 barn if weather does not cooperate). Dinner is made with certified organic vegetables and locally raised meats and fish will be prepared by Vittorio Ettore of Bistro 5. Enjoy cocktails and hors-doerves followed by a three course meal and help maintain and improve the town-owned farm.
