Weekend Planner: Town Day Edition

Here's a look at all the activities planned for Town Day this weekend.

It’s Thursday, and normally we offer suggestions on what to do for the weekend. But for this installment, we're going to break down Town Day for you and help you plan out the weekend's activities.

Where/When: , Friday, June 3, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why Go: Get Town Day started by checking out Ben Rudnick and Friends perform in front of the Winchester Fire Station. When that's done, be sure to head over to the Mill Pond Stage to catch the final round of

Where/when: , Saturday, June 4; 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Why go: If you're looking to start off your Town Day right, the Pancake Breakfast doesn't get much better. Hosted by the Winchester Rotary, there will be sausages, juice, coffee and of course plenty of pancakes.

Pricing: $6.

Where/when:, Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Why go: Let's see how good a fisherman you are. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the derby will be held at Wedge Pond, next to Elliot Park.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: ; Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Why go: How many times will you be able to take a ride on a hot air balloon? Probably not many, but here's your chance. 

Pricing: Free

Where/When: ; Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: In the midst of all the activities, be sure not to forget to take a walk around the Town Center. There will be plenty of vendors and tables set up in the area.

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Laraway Road; Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Children can get a chance to check out some of the town's vehicles. The Department of Public Works, Police Department and Fire Department will all have vehicles on display.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: ; Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: There will be a kids Olympics, pony rides, mask making, trolley rides, a petting zoo and some music. Definitely worth checking out.

Pricing: Free.

Why Go: There will be performances all day long on the stage, including music, dances, rubber duckie races.

Pricing: Free.

9. AND

Where/When: and ; Saturday, June 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: There will be a children's art show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Town Hall. Children from grades K to 12 are encouraged to check it out. The Winchester Unitarian Society will be hosting tours of its stained glass windows from 10:55 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Where/When: ; Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m.

Why Go: The WYC  and Recreation Departemnt is sponsoring a series of races for 3-10 year olds on Town Day morning on the track at Manchester Field.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: ; Saturday, June 4, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: The Chamber of Commerce will be hosting this barbecue on the Common during Town Day. Be sure to stop by for some hot dogs and burgers.

Pricing: Cost of food.

12.

Where/When: ; Saturday, June 4, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Town Day is ending and it's a good chance to get a bite to eat before the fireworks. Tickets will be sold at the Town Day booth and the menu will include pasta, salad, chicken with onions, peppers, eggplant, rollatini, chicken fingers and pastries.

Pricing: Adults: $12; Children: $6; under five: free.

13.

Where/When: Town Center, Saturday, June 4, 9:15 p.m.

Why Go: The perfect way to end Town Day. The fireworks will shoot up over the Town Center.

Pricing: Free.
