UPDATE: Winchester Storm Center: School's Have a Two-Hour Delay for Thursday

Make sure you know what's open, what's closed and everything else you need to know about Wednesday's storm.

UPDATED (1 p.m.) The blizzard is scheduled to and snow all day. With snow totals anticipated to be anywhere from 10 to 14 inches, there are some closings and announcements that have already been made regarding the town of Winchester. Wednesday Closings:

  • The boy's varsity swim meet at Melrose and the girl's hockey game at Burlington that were originally scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed.

  • The Winton Club Fundraiser at the Whole Foods in Woburn will be pushed back one day to Thursday, Jan. 13. The club is trying to raise money for a healing garden at . Five percent of all proceeds raised by Whole Foods goes to the club.
  • Due to the weather reports, the Planning Board has cancelled its Community Conversation scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. at the

  • Clear hydrants and drains of snow
  • Keep fences, mailboxes, basketball hoops, bike/skateboard ramps, etc. away from the edge of the road
  • Don't park on the road
  • Limit travel if possible
  • Don't shovel, plow or blow snow back into the roadway.
  • Sand and salt is available to Winchester residents at the Transfer Station on McKay Avenue.

In case your power goes out:

  • NSTAR is now reporting 20,000 of its customers are without power, most of them are located on Cape Cod and in the Greater Boston area. So far, according to the Winchester PD, there are no reported power outages in Winchester. Most calls have been about low-hanging branches and wires.
