Blessing of the Animals

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS will be held again this Fall, on November 10th, , at 10:00 a.m. in Chidley Hall.  All are invited to bring their animal companion (dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, snake, iguana, etc., etc.) to be part of our worship and to receive a blessing.  We will again have a member of the congregation share their own love of animals.   All pets are welcome, but please consider the wisdom of bringing aggressive animals. You may wish to bring them in a crate or a cage and only let them out at the time of blessing.  If you cannot bring your pet, you may instead bring a photo and we will provide a proxy blessing. There will be different sections for different animals, a clean up crew for accidents, and a place where pets may relieve themselves. Owners are asked to clean up after their pets. Water will also be available.  Since this service falls on Veteran’s Day weekend we will pay special tribute to the animals that serve our country and our communities.  Have a special service dog?  Bring him or her – or their picture.
