Please help us get the word out about this exciting (and really fun) kickoff for the fundraising and toy drive for Christmas in the City. This inaugural event will also include a raffle and the auction of 3 extraordinary Christmas trees lit and fully decorated by: Mayor Thomas Menino, a Team Tree from the Boston Celtics, and a tree from world renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The Seaport Hotel will be providing tasty nibbles and a cash bar.
Christmas in the City (http://www.christmasinthecity.org), a 100% volunteer organization, will hold its 24th Annual Holiday Party this year and is expecting to serve more children than last year when they hosted 3,600 children & Moms living in shelters or transitional housing at their celebration. The following day, they gave out 8,000 more gifts of toys and clothing to the families of boys and girls who have fallen on hard times and otherwise might find nothing under the tree.
100% of money raised from this event will go to purchasing toys and to help fund the bus transportation needed to bring all the children and their Moms to the party!
The Seaport Hotel will be serving as a toy drop off location again this year, where you can valet your toys – meaning you can simply drive up to the hotel’s front door on Seaport Lane and give them to the valet, or leave your car with the valet while you unload gifts to their lobby donation site.
Celebrity Guests include Santa Claus and Jake & Sparky Kennedy (founders of Christmas in the City). In addition to the many fabulous supporters of Christmas in the City!
Admission is a suggested donation of $20 (but larger contributions and additional toys are always welcome!)

Christmas in the City
Christmas in the City serves up a winter wonderland experience, complete with lunch, pony rides, free dental check-ups, haircuts, amusement park bouncy slides, entertainment from choirs and dancers and pictures with Santa to thousands of children and their moms or guardians who are living in homeless shelters or transitional housing. They also help families in need in the days after the event itself, leading up to and including Christmas Eve. Each child receives a gift from their wish list, with a label letting them know it was selected especially for them by Santa (with a little help from Christmas in the City’s generous donors). With money tight for so many, and the need greater than ever before, we are asking for your help in getting the word out about this new drop off location and the unprecedented need.
