At 11:30, hear author Jane Sutton read her book, The Trouble with Cauliflower. Sadie the ostrich makes a delicious meal, with cauliflower, for her best friend Mortimer, a koala. Doesn’t Sadie know that cauliflower gives Mortimer terrible bad luck? Mortimer doesn’t want to hurt his friend’s feelings and eats the stew. The next day he has awful bad luck. But what happens when Sadie makes him another mouth-watering meal?

Kids Table with Amy Rindskopf

Find out what's happening in Winchesterwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

At the monthly kids table, kids of all ages will find fruits and vegetables to taste, (safely) cut, and use to create art. Amy Rindskopf hosts the kids table on the second Saturday of each month, on the Waterfield Road side of the Big Tree. She chooses a fruit and a vegetable in season, and provides safe tools for children to handle and cut the fresh foods. There’s always material for an art project involving the food, such as last month’s sweet pepper stamps. Amy gives kids a free hand in the project, saying the kids are always more creative than anything she could dream up herself. Amy also provides a take-home sheet with recipes and fun facts about the foods used that day for kids and parents to use at home.
