Into the Woods Jr. presented by Arlington Children's Theatre

The Brothers Grimm “go Broadway” as Sondheim and Lapine offer up a cockeyed fairy tale in Into the Woods Jr.  This show is one of Sondheim’s most popular and endearing works and has been adapted especially for young performers, so it is suitable for audiences of all ages. Some of your favorite characters—Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), the Witch and many more—meet and interact in this whimsical original story.

The musical centers on a baker and his wife who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the king's festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse--and wind up changed forever.

Into the Woods is based on a book by James Lapine with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.  This production of Into the Woods Jr. features a talented cast of 34 ACTors aged 7-12 from seven local towns, and is Directed by Talia Brown and Music Director Cory D’Arco.

Performances are Thursday, August 7 at 7 PM, and on Saturday August, 9 at 10 AM and 7 PM at the Regent Theatre at 7 Medford Street Arlington, MA. Tickets are $15.00 and available at the Regent Theatre box office or online at http://regenttheatre.com/tickets_events
