"Managing Soil Health in the Urban Residential Landscape"

The March meeting of the Somerville Garden Club features a presentation by Chuck Sherzi, Mass. certified Arborist and Horticulturist. He will introduce the concept of soil health/quality to help the backyard gardener comprehensively assess and address the soil constraints typically found in the urban garden and landscape.
Sherzi holds a B.S, in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Mass., Amherst, an A.S. in Horticulture from Mass. Bay Community College, Wellesley, and is accredited by the Northeast Organic Farming Association.

All Somerville Garden Club meetings are free and the public is invited to attend. Each meeting opens with club announcements, followed by a horticultural question and answer session, a lecture and/or demonstration, and conclude with a raffle of donated plants and garden-related items. Parking is available on site and the building is a short walk from the Davis Square Redline T station. Meetings are on the second floor, wheelchair accessible.
