“SAVVY SENIORS FACE UNCERTAIN TIMES”
Once again, the Winchester Council on Aging and
the Winchester Seniors Association are presenting a special
one-day symposium and caregiver exhibition to update seniors,
families and professionals about
major issues.
The Symposium begins with a resource exhibition from
8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Many service providers will have tables
at this event and will feature resources useful to seniors.
10:00 a.m.: the formal program begins with an address
entitled “Senior Consumers Beware” by Susan Wornick.
Ms. Wornick, the Consumer Reporter and Co-Anchor for
the Midday News for WCVB-TV, is winner of two Emmy
Awards for her work uncovering frauds and scams.
11:00 a.m.: Al Norman, Executive Director and Lobbyist for
the Massachusetts Home Care Association will speak
about advocacy in his talk entitled “Take Control of Your
Own Destiny.” He has lobbied successfully for money
in the Mass. Medicaid Budget to be spent on adequate
care at home rather than in a nursing home.
12 noon: Lunch will be served. Sign-up required; $8/person;

1:00 p.m.: Jason Lewis will speak on “What Does the Future
Hold for Healthcare” Jason Lewis has served as the State
