Susan Schwartz returns with "Chocolate American Style"

Chocolate is a universal love - delicious, historic and now recognized as healthy as well!  Two years ago Susan Schwartz led a chocolate tasting and demonstration at the Jenks Center.  That was in the morning.  This year she will return in the evening.

In this program we will talk a bit about chocolate manufacturing and history, what makes a chocolate bar delicious, and maybe best of all, you will taste various chocolates.  In this way you will lean what chocolate best suits your palate and which chocolates to use in your cooking and baking.  A quick and easy treat or two using chocolate will also be demonstrated, and recipes will be shared so you can use your new expertise at home.

About the Speaker:
Susan  Schwartz is a Winchester resident who believes that "from scratch" cooking is better, healthier and usually easier than prepared meals. She has taught cooking classes in which her goal is to demonstrate shortcuts and tips to make cooking more user friendly for those who are hesitant in the kitchen.  She is a recipe developer and worked with cookbook author and photographer Lora Brody on Lora's last two books, Chocolate American Style and The New England Table.  Susan is also a real estate lawyer, Past Commodore of the Winchester Boat Club, board member of Winchester Got Lunch and Winchester Foundation for Educational Excellence and, with her husband, Patrick Dinardo, is raising their four high school - and college aged children.

This program is free and open to the public.  Coffee and cookies will be available at 7:00 p.m..  This program is presented by the Education Committee of the Winchester Seniors Association and is supported by a grant from the John and Mary Murphy Educational Foundation.
